Wuerl Welcomes Knights to DC PDF Print E-mail

Archbishop WuerlThe following letter is from the Most Reverend Donald W. Wuerl, S.T.D., Archbishop of Washington to all of our attendees, welcoming them to Washington, DC.

June 1, 2010

Dear Friends,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the nation's capital as you gather for the 128th Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus.  The visit of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, here just two years ago was a time of grace for our local Church and the Catholic Church throughout the United States.  As Pope Benedict said in his homily during Mass at Nationals Park, "As the Successor of Peter, I  have come to America to confirm you, my brothers and sisters, in the faith of the Apostles."  He also reminded us of the importance of being evangelizers and people who bear witness to the gift of faith.
